Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
OCD is far more than simply liking things neat or organised. It can involve distressing intrusive thoughts, compulsions, reassurance-seeking, checking, mental rituals, contamination fears, health fears, relationship doubts, or a constant need for certainty.
I use evidence-based CBT approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), to help clients break free from the cycles that maintain OCD. Therapy focuses on helping you gradually tolerate uncertainty, reduce compulsions, and regain confidence in yourself rather than OCD.
I understand how frightening and shame-inducing intrusive thoughts can feel, and I provide a calm, non-judgemental environment where clients feel safe discussing experiences they may never have spoken about before.
