School Avoidance
School avoidance can be incredibly distressing for both young people and families. Anxiety, overwhelm, bullying, neurodivergence, low mood, trauma, social difficulties, and emotional exhaustion can all contribute.
Having worked extensively within CAMHS, inpatient services, and crisis teams, I understand the complexity behind school avoidance and the importance of looking beyond behaviour alone.
I work collaboratively with young people, families, and schools to understand the underlying difficulties, reduce distress, rebuild confidence, and create realistic, sustainable support plans.
